Moga: Orders issued prohibiting arms license holders from carrying weapons.

The prohibition orders will remain in effect until the end of the Model Code of Conduct—District Magistrate

Elections for members of the Zila Parishad and Panchayat Samiti-2025 will take place on Sunday, December 14, 2025, in compliance with the directives of the State Election Commission, Punjab.

Using the authority granted by Section 163 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, 2023, District Magistrate-cum-Deputy Commissioner Moga, Mr. Sagar Setia, has issued orders banning the carrying of firearms by all District Moga arms license holders. This is to uphold law and order and guarantee the district’s peaceful conclusion of the previously indicated election procedure.

From November 29, 2025, until the Model Code of Conduct is finalized, this directive will be in force.

Army soldiers, paramilitary forces, and uniformed police officers are exempt from these directives. However, election candidates’ security guards and SPOs would not be permitted to carry firearms inside voting places.
