Appointed to the Transition Advisory Council of New Jersey, USA

Currently serving as a Professor of Eminence at Guru Nanak Dev University (GNDU), this alumnus has been appointed to the Transition Advisory Council of the incoming administration of New Jersey, one of the biggest states in the union.

He is the sole Punjabi Sikh on the council, which is noteworthy and gives Punjab international attention.

Dr. Karamjit Singh, vice-chancellor of Guru Nanak Dev University, sees this appointment as a worldwide testament to the efficacy and ability of the entire Punjabi community and the Indian Diaspora, rather than just the personal achievement of a GNDU student.

Governor-elect Mickey Sherrill has established this Council, and he will formally consult with seasoned professionals regarding state policy, administrative goals, and reorganizing the governmental structure. A GNDU graduate’s selection to such a high-level policy-making body is unmistakable proof of the university’s global influence. The selection of attorney S. Jaspreet Singh is a blatant acknowledgment of his legal knowledge, social responsibility, and community leadership in the United States.

Numerous internationally recognized academic and research institutions, such as Princeton University, the former residence of renowned physicist Albert Einstein, are located in the US state of New Jersey. Research relationships between Guru Nanak Dev University and other universities may be strengthened as a result of this appointment.

S. Jaspreet Singh was congratulated by Vice-Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) Karamjit Singh, who expressed delight for Guru Nanak Dev University and Punjab as a whole. The fact that Attorney S. Jaspreet Singh, one of our alumni, was appointed as the only Sikh member of the council in the next US administration is evidence of GNDU’s expanding worldwide reach and its capacity to genuinely develop leadership. He went on to say that S. Jaspreet Singh’s accomplishment will encourage young Punjabis, particularly Guru Nanak Dev University students, to have big dreams and assume leadership positions on the global scene.
