Sheesh Marg Nagar Kirtan’ Commences from Delhi to Sri Anandpur Sahib by the Shiromani Committee.


Large gathering of devotees participated in the Nagar Kirtan; a grand welcome was extended at various stages.

Today, the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) began the “Sheesh Marg Nagar Kirtan” (Head Route Procession) from Gurdwara Sis Ganj Sahib, Delhi, to Sri Anandpur Sahib, commemorating the 350th anniversary of the martyrdom of the Ninth Master, Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Sahib Ji. This parade honors the momentous voyage of Bhai Jaita Ji, who transported Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Sahib Ji’s sacred head (Sheesh) from Delhi to Sri Anandpur Sahib.

Before arriving at Sri Anandpur Sahib, this Nagar Kirtan will travel through the same historic sites where Bhai Jaita Ji stopped while carrying the precious head of the Ninth Master. In order to honor the Ninth Master, a sizable number of devotees took part in the parade, which started with Khalsa splendor.

Route and Timetable
The Gurdwara Sahib Patshahi Nauvin in Tarawari will be the Nagar Kirtan’s first destination.

On November 26, the procession will leave Tarawari and travel to Gurdwara Sis Ganj Sahib in Ambala.

It will go from Gurdwara Sis Ganj Sahib in Ambala to Gurdwara Sri Nabha Sahib in Zirakpur on November 27.

On November 28, it will go from Gurdwara Sri Nabha Sahib in Zirakpur to Gurdwara Bibangarh Sahib in Kiratpur Sahib, where a sizable religious event known as the Gurmat Samagam will take place.

This historic Nagar Kirtan will walk from Gurdwara Bibangarh Sahib to Gurdwara Sis Ganj Sahib, Sri Anandpur Sahib, on November 29.

The Jathedars of the Five Takhts, Dal Panth, Taksals, and Sikh Sampradayas (sects) will be present, along with notable individuals and representative panthic organizations.

Warm Welcome and Participation
At several points today, the Sangat (devotees) gave the Nagar Kirtan a hearty welcome. S. Dhian Singh of SJS Motors Hapur and his family organized Langar (community kitchen) services and cordially welcomed the procession in the Baghpat region of Uttar Pradesh. The Gatka (Sikh martial art) skills of the Nihang Singh soldiers that accompanied the procession were also on display.

Former Delhi Committee Presidents S. Paramjit Singh Sarna and S. were among the notable people in attendance at the Nagar Kirtan’s opening. Manjit Singh GK, members of the SGPC S. S. Paramjit Singh Rana, Gurminder Singh Matharu, and others, as well as a sizable assembly of followers.
