On November 26, the Punjab government has scheduled a unique one-day students’ session in the Punjab Vidhan Sabha. Students chosen from government schools in each of Punjab’s 117 assembly seats will lead this session. Jagmander Singh, a student from Government Senior Secondary School in the Faridkot area, will speak on behalf of the Kotkapura assembly constituency.
According to Jagmander Singh, the Punjab administration has planned to convene a one-day assembly session on November 26 in honor of Constitution Day in order to raise students’ political consciousness. Students from Punjab’s government schools in the eleventh and twelfth grades will act as the Assembly Speaker, Chief Minister, and MLAs during this session. Additionally, this will give students a fantastic learning experience.
As an MLA participating in the Punjab Vidhan Sabha session and presiding over the honorable chair of the House Speaker, Jagmander Singh expressed his pride.
The Chief Minister, Speaker, Ministers, MLAs, and the Opposition will be portrayed by students chosen from government schools throughout the state. According to Speaker Sandhwan, the program’s primary goal is to teach young people about the Constitution, the democratic process, and parliamentary procedures. Students will take part in bill presentations, debate, adjournment motions, Zero Hour, and Question Hour.
These sessions will be held annually, according to Speaker Kultar Singh Sandhwan, so that young people can interact directly with the governance system. Under the direction of Chief Minister S. Bhagwant Singh Mann, this project will advance informed, transparent, and educated governance. Pupils will comprehend the creation, discussion, and application of policies. This action will increase young people’s positive engagement with politics and democratic ideals.
