Modi Government Aggressive Towards Punjab, Trying to Snatch State’s Rights—Harpal Cheema’s Major Allegation.
On Monday, in honor of Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji’s 350th martyrdom day, the Punjab Vidhan Sabha (Legislative Assembly) held a special session at Sri Anandpur Sahib.
Finance Minister Harpal Singh Cheema honored the Guru Sahib and unleashed a scathing attack on the Central Government during this momentous session.
He claimed that the nation’s leaders are now behaving like “Dhadvī” (aggressors), attacking Punjab on a regular basis and trying to seize the state’s rights.
Mention of Situations in Manipur and UP
In his address, Cheema stated that widespread oppression is still occurring in many parts of the country today. Referring to states like Manipur and Uttar Pradesh, he said that the situation there is alarming. In a similar vein, Punjab is also frequently targeted.
According to the Finance Minister, attempts are already underway to seize Chandigarh, the state capital, in addition to attacking Punjab’s agricultural, educational, and water resources. He stated that the decisions made by the Central Government are not in Punjab’s best interests.
“Punjab is Giving a Message of Unity.”
In remembrance of the Guru Sahib’s unmatched martyrdom, Cheema stated that the Guru gave his life 350 years ago to maintain Hindustan’s unity. Punjab’s three crore residents continue to pursue the same course and spread the message of upholding the integrity and unity of the nation.
Lastly, he expressed gratitude to Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann for the momentous choice to have this special session in the Guru’s homeland.
