‘Arms Network’ Busted in Kapurthala! Police Apprehend 2 Accomplices.
November 19, 2025, Kapurthala: The Punjab Police have discovered a network distributing illicit firearms in a significant operation against organized crime. Amandeep, also known as Aman, a prominent member of the “Jagga Phookiwal” extortion gang operating in the Sultanpur Lodhi area, has been taken into custody by Kapurthala Police.
Nine domestic handguns and live ammunition were found in his hands by the police at his request. The purpose of this operation was to reduce instances of extortion and gunfire in the local community.
Amandeep Gave the Gang Weapons
Punjab The arrested culprit, Amandeep, is a resident of Tashpur village in Kapurthala, according to information released on social media by DGP Gaurav Yadav. He was giving local gangs guns so they could commit crimes. Four handguns created in the nation were immediately found when the authorities took him into custody.
Lovepreet, an accomplice, was also detained.
Amandeep disclosed during questioning that he had also given guns to Lovepreet, popularly known as Baba, one of his accomplices. Lovepreet was also taken into custody by the police right away. When the police searched him, they discovered two live rounds, a country-made handgun with a .32 bore, and a country-made pistol with a .315 bore.
Weapons Stored at Home
The police probe didn’t end there. Amandeep admitted to hiding other guns at his home after being subjected to more intense questioning. Three more country-made handguns that were buried in the ground were found by the police during their raid on his residence. As a result, nine illicit weapons were found by the police during this operation.
The Search for the Whole Network Continues
At the Sadar Police Station in Kapurthala, the police have filed a formal complaint against the accused. According to the DGP, the police are currently looking into the network’s forward and backward connections to determine the origin of these weapons and the intended recipient. The Punjab Police have reaffirmed their determination to destroy the state’s illicit weapons network.
