Loot from Haryana Cab Driver in Ludhiana: 2 Arrested: Taxi snatched on the highway by strangling with a muffler and booked through an app.
The two bandits who stole from a taxi driver on the Ludhiana-Chandigarh National Highway have been apprehended by the police. After scheduling a taxi ride, these criminals strangled the driver on the highway and stole the vehicle.
Naveen Kumar, a taxi driver from Fatehabad (Haryana), told the police that he drives a Swift Dzire. After making a reservation using an app, he got a call on November 14, 2025. The caller claimed to be Karan, a Jaja (Hoshiarpur) resident, and he made a taxi reservation to travel to Ludhiana. The driver was instructed to go to Gurudwara Sohana after the fare was set at ₹1500.
When Naveen arrived in Sohana, two young people were there to greet him. One of them identified himself as Moga resident Gurjant Singh, also known as Janta. Gurjant was seated in the rear, and Karan was seated beside the driver in the passenger seat.
Gurjant Singh, a passenger in the back, abruptly started strangling the driver with a muffler after the vehicle had gone over the Heddon village bridge on the Ludhiana-Chandigarh highway.
Naveen quickly moved the car to the side to save his life. The two miscreants threatened to kill him and demanded ₹20,000 during this time. Ravinder Singh, the automobile owner, continued to receive calls, but the accused prevented him from picking up.
The driver was compelled to exit the vehicle. Karan leaped into the driver’s seat as soon as he got out, and they took off with the automobile. Naveen Kumar, the driver, complained to the police right away. Both criminals were apprehended by the police in a timely manner.
