On this occasion, Mr. Deepak Bali said that the Punjab government, led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, is commemorating Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Sahib Ji’s martyrdom on a great scale. To this end, four magnificent Nagar Kirtans will be held throughout Punjab. On November 21, one of these will reach Sri Fatehgarh Sahib, the sacred site of martyrs. The Nagar Kirtan will depart the following morning, November 22, for Sri Anandpur Sahib, going through Morinda and Chamkaur Sahib, he said, following a night’s stay. He urged the officials to encourage their families and other devotees to joyfully participate in the Nagar Kirtan and commended the district’s administrative preparations.
On this occasion, Baba Lakha Singh (Nanakser Sect) encouraged the guests to embrace the message of international brotherhood and draw inspiration from the life of Guru Tegh Bahadur Sahib Ji, the Ninth Guru. He claimed that since the Guru Sahib gave his life to ensure the well-being of all people, it is always necessary to follow his teachings.
Deputy Commissioner Dr. Sona Thind promised during the meeting that all arrangements would be made for the devotees’ convenience and that all preparations would be finished on schedule. During the meeting, all Sub-Divisional Magistrates as well as other dignitaries were present.
