Punjab Government Gives ₹1.5 Crore Prize to Women Players: Announcement of ₹1.5 Crore Prize 9 Days After World Cup; No Job for Harmanpreet as DSP, Harleen, and Amanjot.


The Punjab government has awarded the state’s female athletes a substantial gift nine days after the historic Women’s World Cup victory. The government has declared that each Punjabi lady who plays will receive a prize of ₹1.5 crore. Social media was used to make this formal announcement.

Prior to this, the administration was unable to make any announcements since the Tarn Taran by-election Code of Conduct was in force. The administration has now made this decision in the players’ honor on election day.

The three Punjabi women cricket players, Harmanpreet Kaur, Harleen Deol, and Amanjot Kaur, will receive the prize money.

Harleen-Amanjot and Harmanpreet DSP are unemployed
Harmanpreet is currently employed with the Punjab Police as a DSP (Deputy Superintendent of Police). She lives in Moga.

Her outstanding performance in the 2017 World Cup and the team’s runners-up finish under Captain Amarinder Singh’s Congress leadership earned her this position.

After the 2017 World Cup, Harmanpreet was appointed as a DSP. Prior to this, he had applied to join the Punjab Police in 2011 but was not chosen. She was later named DSP following the 2017 World Cup.

Her promotion is now being discussed.

Amanjot Kaur and Harleen Deol, the team’s other two players, do not now work for the government.
