Zonal Commissioner Out on Night Patrol in Ludhiana: Fined People Dumping Garbage, Made Them Pick It Up; Said, ‘Forgive Me, Sir, Don’t Recommend.’

Vehicles May Also Be Confiscated: The Zonal Commissioner issued a warning that anyone who dumps trash in the open would face more severe consequences in the days ahead. If the offenders deposit trash on the roads, their cars may also be seized.

Excuses regarding the Garbage Collector: A lot of people also cited the garbage collector’s early morning arrival, which makes it challenging to turn over the rubbish, or the fact that the collector demands payment to pick up the trash.
“Sir, I have to take the children to school early.” Some even attempted to provide justifications, such as, “Sir, I am in a hurry in the morning; I have to take the children to school and go to work, so I threw the garbage late at night.”
“Commissioner Was Unmoved: However, Zonal Commissioner Jasdev Singh Sekhon stated unequivocally that if the Municipal Corporation’s service is not reaching them, they should either use the static compactor machines that the Municipal Corporation provides in different parts of the city or hire a private garbage collector. He declared that it will never be acceptable to toss trash on the road.
