Sharp weapons were used to kill the former Sarpanch and Press Secretary of the Pagri Sambhal Jatta Lehar (Save the Turban Farmers’ Movement) in Mukerian, Punjab. The village of Nangal Magal is where the incident took place. A land dispute led to the death of former Sarpanch and farmer leader Saurabh Minhas, often known as Billu.
According to reports, a fight started over this issue. He was stabbed nine times with a sharp object by a member of the same village during this altercation. He suffered severe injuries as a result. He was brought right away to Mukerian’s Civil Hospital. Following first aid, medical professionals sent him to Jalandhar, where he passed away at one in the morning on Saturday.
Saurabh had gone on an errand.
One of the villagers attacked Saurabh with a sharp-edged blade while he was heading to the hamlet for some employment. He was repeatedly stabbed in the abdomen. Saurabh was struck repeatedly before collapsing on the ground, unconscious.
In Mukerian, farmer groups blocked the highway.
Members of agricultural organisations and groups blocked the Mukerian-Jalandhar National Highway on Friday in protest at this occurrence. A lengthy traffic delay resulted from people sitting on the highway for thirty minutes. According to family members, there was a conspiracy behind the attack on Saurabh.

If the accused is not taken into custody, the movement will get more intense.
According to the farmer leader, a sharp weapon was used to kill farmer Saurabh Minhas. This situation has to be thoroughly investigated. A protest movement will be started in the near future if the accused is not found through an investigation and taken into custody. The police are merely handling paperwork at the moment. The accused will be apprehended, the police have promised.
The Saurabh Kisan Union Pagri Sambhal Jatta Lehar Press Secretary’s killer would be caught as soon as possible, according to farmer leaders.
Murder Was Committed, Says Station In-Charge, Because of the Land Conflict
The Mukerian Police Station’s In-Charge, Daljit Singh, stated that an inquiry is underway. It has now been established that the murder occurred as a result of the accused and the deceased’s longstanding land dispute. “We received information at 7 PM that someone attacked Saurabh Minhas with a sharp weapon,” he said.
After being brought to Civil Hospital in Mukerian, Saurabh was moved to a private hospital in Jalandhar, where he passed away last night at one in the morning. The accused is being questioned based on the family’s statement.
