Drug Smuggler from Ferozepur Arrested in Jagraon: Heroin and Bike Seized; He Was Riding a Motorcycle and Used to Drive a School Van.


It has also been discovered that the driver who previously drove a school van for kids at a private school in the Ferozepur area is involved in narcotics smuggling. After a raid, the accused was apprehended by the Jagraon Police in Ludhiana with 50 grammes of heroin.

Karamjit Singh, also known as Monu, a resident of Bedi Colony, Ward No. 6, Ferozepur, has been identified as the apprehended accused. The culprit had come from Ferozepur on his motorbike to deliver drugs to the Jagraon region, according to the police.

Arrest Made Close to the Bus Stop
When police learnt that Karamjit Singh was transporting a quantity of heroin from Dharmkot-Kishanpura, they were investigating suspicious people in the vicinity of Bus Stand village Tihada. Based on this information, a roadblock (Naka) was erected close to T-Point Palli Multani, and the accused was captured.

The Accused Previously Operated a School Van
The accused was found to have a Splendour Plus motorbike and 50 grammes of heroin during the search. The accused was detained after a charge under the NDPS Act was filed at Sidhwan Bet Police Station.

According to ASI Sukhmandar Singh, the accused admitted during preliminary questioning that he had driven a school van in the past but had turned to drug smuggling because of his low salary. The authorities are currently looking into where he got the heroin and who he was giving it to in Jagraon.

In order to track down the accused’s network, police have confiscated his cell phone and begun examining the call details.
