Rajinder Gupta Takes Oath as Rajya Sabha MP: Becomes the Seventh Member from Punjab; Elected Unopposed; Chosen as Person of the Year by Time Magazine.


Rajinder Gupta, an industrialist and recently elected member of the Rajya Sabha from Punjab, took the oath of office today at the Parliament House in New Delhi. Vice President and Rajya Sabha Chairman C P Radhakrishnan gave the oath to him. There was no opposition to his election.

This swearing-in ceremony marks the start of Shri Gupta’s legislative career. It is anticipated that he will make a substantial contribution to the creation of national policies and the advancement of Punjab by utilising his extensive background in industry, innovation, and social welfare.

Gupta has been appointed as the eighth Punjabi leader to represent Punjab’s interests in the Rajya Sabha. Prior to him, members of the Rajya Sabha were LPU Chancellor Ashok Mittal, former cricket player Harbhajan Singh, AAP leader Raghav Chadha, businessman Vikramjit Singh Sahney, Sandeep Pathak, and social activist Sant Balbir Singh Seechewal. Sanjeev Arora, who later joined the Rajya Sabha, had previously held this position. After he won the Ludhiana West seat in the Assembly election, the position became vacant.

Police Investigating the situation According to Ghanaur’s Station House Officer (SHO), Kuljinder Singh, the situation is being thoroughly examined. He said that only after the probe is finished will it be evident why Lavpreet Singh took this action. According to the villagers, the young man made a noose by tying a cloth to an electric pole on the opposite side of the bus stand wall. Many people flocked to the location as soon as word of the young person’s passing circulated.
