Ludhiana: Family stops post-mortem of Kabaddi player again; says, ‘Won’t allow it until the third accused is arrested,’ and has held talks with Police twice.

The post-mortem has not yet been carried out, even four days after Tejpal Singh, a Punjab Kabaddi player, was killed. The family and the police have had two rounds of discussions about the post-mortem, one yesterday and one this morning. The family is certain that the post-mortem cannot take place until Kala Romi, the third accused, is taken into custody.

Two suspects were taken into custody by the police on Sunday, November 2. The family members and police officers then met, and it was decided that the post-mortem would take place in the morning. But this morning, the family demanded that the third accused be taken into custody.

Since Friday afternoon, October 31, Tejpal Singh’s body has been kept in a freezer. It was maintained in the freezer at the cremation on Sherpur Road after spending a day in the freezer of the Civil Hospital.

Tejpal’s body will be taken to the Civil Hospital in Jagraon and given to the family following the post-mortem, according to the police, as soon as the family consents.

Police are holding accused Harpreet Singh Hani and Gagandeep Singh Gagna. If the family requests it, a Medical Board will conduct the post-mortem.
The police have brought this issue to the attention of the Civil Hospital’s SMO (Senior Medical Officer). Everything is ready for Tejpal’s post-mortem at the Civil Hospital. According to SMO Dr. Gurwinder Kaur, the family has not yet asked for a Medical Board to perform the post-mortem. A Medical Board will be established immediately, and a post-mortem will be performed if the family requests it.
