BJP-Congress Councillors Clash in Chandigarh Corporation Meeting: Ruckus over writing names on the foundation stone plaque; argument also between Mayor Prem Lata.
During the Chandigarh Municipal Corporation meeting, there was a commotion. Congress secretary Gurubaksh Rawat and BJP councillor Saurabh Joshi got into a violent argument and fight over putting names on the foundation stone plaque.
Gurubaksh Rawat, a BJP council member, brought up the concern that the foundation stone plaque bears the names of the mayor, deputy mayor, and council member. He said he was not invited to the occasion and that his name is not on the plaque for the pole being erected in his district.
In addition, BJP councillor Saurabh Joshi picked up MP Manish Tewari’s nameplate and enquired as to the MP’s residence, stating that he is a member of parliament who only comes on Saturday and Sunday.
