CLTA: The Administration Took Control of the Tennis Courts.
The Chandigarh Lawn Tennis Association (CLTA) handed over control of the tennis courts in Sector-10 to the Chandigarh Administration on Thursday when the lease expired. Tennis players’ costs will be lowered as a result of this decision. This court was run by CLTA for almost 38 years.
Important Coaching Changes: The Sports Department coaches will now oversee player training.
Fees: The Sports Department will shortly finalize the fee schedule. According to officials, the players would now receive training for a small price, much like at other Administration-run sports facilities.
Players and Parents Are Happy The Administration’s action has been well received by players and their parents. A parent claims, “The CLTA used to charge an outrageous fee.” We now hope that players will receive inexpensive training following the Administration’s takeover.
Context Note: After the Chandigarh Administration revoked the CLTA (Chandigarh Lawn Tennis Association) lease for the tennis stadium in Sector 10, they took over the facility’s management to offer training at more reasonable prices.

17 Coaches Selected
At Ground-10, the Sports Department currently employs 17 coaches to instruct the players.
While some of these coaches were hired by the department, others with coaching certifications who had previously trained at CLTA were kept on staff.
Additionally, 27 workers, including gardeners, sweepers, security guards, and other personnel, have been appointed for the upkeep and operation of the property.
