This time, Chandigarh enthusiasts who like to add pricey and eye-catching licence plates to their vehicles also paid a lot of money. The Transport Authority of the UT Administration held a bid of up to ₹2 Crore 71 Lakh 57 Thousand for the fancy numbers of the new number series.
The number PB01 DB 0001 sold for ₹22 Lakh 58 Thousand, the highest bid in this series. In the meantime, PB01 DB 0007 brought in ₹10 lakh 94 thousand at auction.
Fancy Numbers for Sale via Online Auction
Through an online auction, the Transport Authority sold its new series, which included PB01 DB 0001 through PB01 DB 9999. The agency posted an online auction for these numbers on its public webpage.
The individual who places the highest bid receives the number. After the successful applicant deposits the agreed-upon sum with the relevant authorities, their car is given a fancy number.
No Purchase Put on 479 Numbers
After the number series from 0001 to 9999 concludes, the administration launches a new series. The Chandigarh Administration’s Transport Department and the Regional Transport Authority issue orders for this, which are shown on their website.
There is a reserve price for each number, after which bidding starts. The number is awarded to the highest bidder. 479 of the roughly 1000 numbers in the PB 01 DB 0001 to 9999 series that were offered for sale received no bids. This implies that the reserve price will be used to sell these numbers.
