Stripping Children Naked and Beating Them in Chandigarh: Child Rights Commission Demands Action Report from Police, Says, ‘Doing this is wrong in any case.’
The Child Rights Commission has asked the police to provide a report on the incident in Mohali, Punjab, when five boys were thrashed and stripped naked after stealing and eating cookies from a store. To present the report on the actions taken thus far, the police have been called to the Commission’s office today. The Commission will then decide what police action to take.
According to the Commission, children cannot be beaten after being stripped naked, even if they were at fault. Action against them is therefore required. Laws and courts have been put in place to penalize anyone who makes a mistake. In this way, no one can be authorized to enforce the law themselves.

Three days ago, the incident came to light.
The incident was discovered on October 21, 2025, three days ago. Five children were beaten and undressed by some individuals in Zirakpur. They said that the kids had eaten biscuits they had stolen from a store. In addition to being beaten and stripped naked, the kids were forced to adopt the “rooster” pose (murga banaaya gaya) while driving.
Furthermore, videos of the youngsters being thrashed were produced and shared widely on social media. The toddlers may be seen pleading for forgiveness with their palms clasped in the widely shared videos. However, the populace continued. On the basis of a complaint from the families, the police then filed a formal report (FIR) (Parijan). The accused hasn’t been taken into custody yet, though.
The kids range in age from fifteen to seventeen. The five are pals and all hail from the same village. They were on the VIP Road now. There, their families were also employed. The shopkeeper and those in the vicinity were incensed when the youngsters stole and consumed a packet of biscuits from a store during this period.

After the kids made the minor error, a resident of VIP Block-B arrived at the location with perhaps nine or ten additional young men. He forced the boys to take off their garments. They were thrashed and stripped naked. They verbally assaulted the lads. They were allegedly given green chillies as well.
Report Summoned to the Inquiry Officer
This case has been noted by the Punjab State Commission for Protection of Child Rights. In this case, the Commission has summoned the Inquiry Officer and the inquiry report. At 11 a.m. on October 27, the inquiry officer was summoned to the office.
