International arms smuggler arrested in Amritsar: 6 pistols, 11 magazines, and cartridges recovered; links connected to Pakistan.
An international arms smuggling network was discovered by Amritsar Rural Police, and one suspect was taken into custody. The individual that was taken into custody is Amrinder Singh, also known as Amar, who lives in Dehriwal, Police Station Tarsikka, Amritsar.
From the accused’s possession, police found six pistols, eleven magazines, thirty live cartridges (30 bore), and nine live cartridges (9 mm).
DGP Punjab Gaurav Yadav claims that the accused was in communication with smugglers working in Pakistan after returning from Canada. An organized smuggling network operating on a global scale is indicated and hinted at by this case. The police have filed a formal complaint against the defendant, and an investigation is currently in progress.
Finding the accused’s goal and additional collaborators, revealing the connections that lead to and from this network, and bringing the entire gang to justice are the goals of the inquiry. According to the DGP, Punjab Police is dedicated to enforcing strict measures against organized crime and is always striving to keep the state peaceful and harmonious.
Additionally, Pakistani arms smuggling has already been exposed.
The Punjabi police’s Amritsar Counter Intelligence Team successfully captured the Pakistani gun smuggling ring two days ago, and international arms smugglers were caught in Amritsar three days ago. Angrez Singh, Arshdeep Singh, and Mahesh, alias Ashu Masih, were the names of the apprehended suspects.
These three were active in obtaining firearms from the other side of the border and lived in the Tarn Taran region. A total of eight handguns, including three 9mm and five .30 bore models, were found in the accused’s possession. They also confiscated their magazines.
In the past, the Pakistani smuggler would send firearms in consignments. This shipment was imported into India from the border village of Mari Kamboh in the region of Tarn Taran. At Police Station SSO Amritsar, Mahesh, also known as Ashu Masih, and Angrez Singh were already wanted in cases filed under the Arms Act.
