SGPC Member Bhai Ram Singh Passes Away in Amritsar: Was Suffering from Cancer; Cremation to be Held After Children Return from Abroad.
Bhai Ram Singh, a senior member of the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC), died in Amritsar. The 74-year-old Bhai Ram Singh has been battling bone and joint cancer for a while.
At Shri Guru Ram Das Charitable Hospital, he was receiving medical care. On Saturday evening, he passed away. Family sources say the cremation will take place upon the homecoming of his overseas-based children.

Giani Kuldeep Singh Gagganj, the acting Jathedar of Shri Akal Takht Sahib, and the Jathedar of Takht Shri Kesgarh Sahib conveyed their profound sadness over Bhai Ram Singh’s passing. In order to give the deceased a place at God’s feet and give the family the fortitude to deal with this loss, he offered an Ardas (Sikh prayer) to Akal Purakh and gave Panthic and Dharma issues top priority. He served for a long time as a member of the SGPC and made a major contribution to the fields of Prasar (religious propagation and development) and Dharma Prachar.

Advocate Dhami stated that the passing of Bhai Ram Singh is a huge loss for the Sikh community, the Shiromani Committee as a whole, and his family. He prayed that the Almighty would give the deceased a place at his feet and give the family the fortitude to endure this grief as he conveyed his condolences to the family.
Sardar Rughjit Singh Virk, the senior vice president of the Shiromani Committee; Sardar Baldev Singh Kalyan, the junior vice president; Sardar Sher Singh Mandwala; and Sardar Kulwant Singh Maan, the chief secretary, also conveyed their sorrow and sent their condolences to the family on this occasion.
