DFSC Meenakshi Visits Mandis to Accelerate Lifting Process
Adequate arrangements made for smooth procurement process in the mandis
Fatehgarh Sahib, October 06:
District Food and Supply Controller (DFSC) Meenakshi visited the grain markets in Sirhind and Amloh in accordance with directives from Deputy Commissioner Dr Sona Thind to expedite the paddy lifting procedure at the Sirhind grain market. She discussed the arrangements made in the mandis in detail while she was there, speaking with representatives of the Arhtiya Associations and officials from the procurement agencies.
Impact of Rain and Assurance of Quick Action
According to the District Food and Supply Controller, the recent rainfall had a minor impact on the lifting and procurement procedure. She did, however, promise that the mandis would quickly acquire and lift paddy as soon as the weather improved.
According to her, sufficient preparations have been made at the buy centres for the tarpaulins, boxes, and gunny bags (bardana) that farmers will require in order to sell their crops without any problems.
Addressing Waterlogging and Next Steps
In response to a query, the DFSC stated that the Mandi Board had used four machines to address the issue of waterlogging that had arisen in the Amloh Mandi as a result of rain. She gave the procurement agency officials explicit instructions that there should be no challenges in the mandis.
The lifting operation will be executed quickly over the course of the next day or two, she continued, adding that the lifting tender procedure is now complete.
