40 kg of fake Desi Ghee found in a house in Ludhiana.

A residence in Sham Nagar, Ludhiana, Punjab, has fake Desi ghee left inside. The Health Department team promptly launched a raid after learning of the tip, discovering a significant amount of counterfeit ghee being delivered to stores.

40 kilogrammes of counterfeit ghee were found.
During the police-assisted operation, the crew found 40 kg of cream, dry milk powder, and phoney ghee. Due to the celebrations, the city was supposed to supply this ghee along with other products. The home that was raided by the Health Department today was also raided in 2017.

Accused declared absconder in 2023

In addition to this, following a raid in 2020, authorities also confiscated counterfeit goods. Five years later, in 2025, the department conducted another raid and discovered more counterfeit ghee. The accused was arrested today after the police in 2023 declared him to be an absconder. Civil Surgeon Dr. Ramandeep Kaur provided information, stating that although people are already concealing counterfeit items in their houses, raids would now also be carried out on people’s residences. Dry milk powder, refined oil, and other ingredients were used to make this false Desi ghee.

One defendant was taken into custody.
She asked everyone to notify the Health Department right away if they discover any contaminated food. After obtaining samples of milk, ghee, and cream, the department has now taken the female home’s owner into custody.
