CM Mann Says – Anandpur Sahib to Become a ‘White City’: Foundation Stone of Heritage Street Laid, White Marble to Be Used Throughout the City.
The ‘Heritage Street’ project at Sri Anandpur Sahib in Rupnagar was inaugurated by Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann after fifty years. Giving this historic and holy city a global identity from a cultural and tourism standpoint is the aim of this project.
A ‘White City’ development plan for Anandpur Sahib was launched by CM Mann. Throughout the city, white marble—a symbol of purity, devotion, and peace—will be utilised. Six magnificent gates will be constructed as part of the project, with inspiration taken from Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji’s teachings, Punjabi cultural heritage, and Sikh history.

According to Mann, this is an endeavour to fully reflect the splendour of the the Sikh past rather than just a building project. The administration wants to give tourists and devotees access to top-notch facilities. This will contain facilities, a women’s area, parking, cleanliness, and a traffic system that complies with international standards.
A dedicated tourist route is being created from Anandpur Sahib to sacred locations such as Bagla Mukhi, Naina Devi, and Chittapurni in order to encourage religious tourism. The “Panj Takhts” (Five Thrones) will also be easily accessible to devotees due to a proposal to improve railway communication.
Every Crisis Makes Punjabis Stronger, Says CM
The chief minister claimed that although floods and other natural disasters have recently struck Punjab, Punjabis have always come out stronger on the other side. This development project in Anandpur Sahib will also serve as a representation of that same spirit, which is the determination to welcome fresh perspectives, fresh starts, and the resuscitation of cultural traditions.
