‘I Love Mohammad’ Controversy in Punjab, FIR on AAP Leader: Muslim Wing Incharge in Jalandhar Wife is Councillor, BJP; Hindu Organisations Call for Gathering.

Hindu groups have arranged for a meeting at Shri Ram Chowk today at 11 AM in response to the ‘I Love Mohammad’ scandal in Jalandhar, Punjab. The conflict started on Friday night when a young man called Yogesh heard the cry of “Allahu Akbar” and, while he was submitting a memorandum to the Commissioner’s office as a member of the All India Ulema, yelled the slogan “Jai Shri Ram” among the mob.

After this, Muslim youths allegedly encircled his scooter and fought with him. In addition, Yogesh claimed that he was threatened with death if he continued to scream “Allahu Akbar”. For around four hours following this occurrence, there was a tense atmosphere in the city.

Hindu groups have issued an ultimatum to the police until 11 AM on Saturday, calling for the culprits to be arrested. In this instance, Muslim leaders Ayub Khan, Namin Khan, and two other people are the targets of a formal complaint.

Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Ayub Khan and his spouse are both councillors from the Basti seat. He was a member of the BJP a year ago. He had been appointed by the BJP’s Minority Morcha State President, Thomas Masih, to lead the Minority Wing throughout Punjab. Ayub Khan has also served in the Shiromani Akali Dal and the Congress.
