Rice-Laden Truck Overturns in Jalandhar: 200 Sacks Soaked in Water, Accident Caused by Potholes on the Road.
Near Focal Point, Jalandhar, a truck carrying paddy (rice grain) overturned after becoming trapped in deep potholes. In the collision, the truck driver suffered minor injuries. After much work, locals managed to bring the motorist out to safety. Paddy sacks were placed into the vehicle. The overturning caused the sacks to fall onto the road, where they were saturated by the rain.
Witnesses report seeing big craters on the road, but it is impossible to see how deep they are because of the rains filling them. The truck overturned as a result of the driver’s inability to control it. Damage totalling lakhs of rupees was caused when the paddy sacks spilt out and became wet.

According to people, the roads in the vicinity of Focal Point have long been in bad shape. It is very difficult for bikers and motorcyclists to get through here when it is raining. At the same location, a bus also overturned a few days before.
Jalandhar is allegedly anticipating a significant mishap.
The administration and the Nagar Nigam (Municipal Corporation) were encircled by locals who questioned whether the officials were holding out for a serious incident or fatality. Since thousands of people visit Focal Point every day, they cautioned that this carelessness could result in a serious catastrophe at any time. In order to prevent everyday accidents, they urged that the road be repaired immediately and that appropriate water drainage systems be made.
