Several nurses have staged a stunning rooftop rally as part of the ongoing protest by the nursing staff at Government Rajindra Hospital in Patiala. Demands for a change in their work category and an increase in their pay grade are the primary causes of the protest.The nurses who are protesting specifically want their work category altered from Grade C to Grade B and their pay grade raised from Rs 2,800 to Rs 4,600. They claim to be regular workers and are calling for the seventh-level pay scale to be implemented in accordance with the guidelines set forth by the Central Pay Commission, which is how they were hired. The demonstrators have declared their intention to stay on strike indefinitely until their demands are fulfilled. To try to find a solution, officials have been negotiating with the demonstrators.
