ਪੰਜਾਬ BJP President Sunil Jakhar to Hold Press Conference
Political tensions rise over the central ਸਰਕਾਰ’s ₹1600 crore; AAP surrounds them, and BJP will be on the offensive ਅੱਜ.
The national ਸਰਕਾਰ’s announcement to provide the state with ₹1600 crore in response to the recent floods has sparked political tensions in ਪੰਜਾਬ. The national ਸਰਕਾਰ is allegedly pushing ਪੰਜਾਬ around, and the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) is cornering the BJP administration on this issue.
The federal ਸਰਕਾਰ’s compensation is referred to as “a drop in the ocean”. Sunil Jakhar, the president of the ਪੰਜਾਬ BJP, will hold a press conference ਅੱਜ in the interim. It is unclear what the press conference will be about, but it is thought that he will also question the administration about the floods and the state of affairs.

The Largest Flood Since 1988
This is the biggest flood to hit ਪੰਜਾਬ since 1988. There are now 2555 villages impacted by flooding, mostly in the districts of Hoshiarpur and Ludhiana. 199,926 hectares have been inundated, and 389,445 persons have been impacted overall. Helping ਲੋਕ is the focus of numerous political parties and social service organisations. The BJP has since constructed four makeshift homes where residents are receiving food, household goods, sleeping quarters, and other essentials.

The prime ਮੰਤਰੀ has conducted an assessment.
Both Union Agriculture ਮੰਤਰੀ Shivraj Singh Chouhan and Prime ਮੰਤਰੀ Narendra Modi have travelled to the flood-affected regions. The Prime ਮੰਤਰੀ and the Union Agriculture ਮੰਤਰੀ have also received Governor Gulab Chand Kataria’s report. Additionally, the damage has been assessed by a central staff. A girdawari, or survey of crop damage, is being carried out by the Punjabi ਸਰਕਾਰ. All payments would be made within 40 days, according to CM Bhagwant Mann.
