“The story of a fake major, a BA fail, caught by the Chandigarh Police: Trapped a female constable from Punjab; cheated people in Haryana-UP on the pretext of Agniveer recruitment.”

During their investigation into the arrest of a phony Major Ganesh Bhatt from Panchkula, Haryana, the Chandigarh Police made a number of findings. It states that Bhatt has been posing as a military officer for the past eight years and is actually a BA failure.

In an attempt to win over ladies, Bhatt allegedly began dressing in uniform and driving army cars, according to the Chandigarh Police. By promising them Agniveer recruitment, he allegedly conned people in three states (Uttarakhand, Haryana, and Uttar Pradesh) out of an estimated ₹50–60 lakh.

He became friends with an inspector from the Chandigarh Police’s Sector-11 crime section a while back. After that, he began hanging out with police officers. Meanwhile, he won the heart of a female constable. He snatched five lakh rupees and a gold ring from the constable after luring her with the promise of marriage. This same constable’s allegation later led to the revelation of Bhatt’s deceit.

On August 22, Bhatt was taken into custody. This case was initially being investigated by the crime branch; however, it has since been turned over to the operation cell. Some police personnel are being investigated in this matter as well as Bhatt’s history by the investigative team. Punjab is the birthplace of the female constable whose complaint resulted in the arrest of the phony major.
