“Today, the Indian women’s cricket team will take on Australia in the second game of their three-match ODI series. Australia has a 1-0 series lead and will win the series if they win this game.
“The Indian squad has lost eight straight games and hasn’t defeated Australia since 2021. India also suffered a loss in the opening ODI on Sunday.
“Thus, the pressure to win is clearly visible on the Indian team before the match today at Maharaja Yadavindra International Cricket Stadium, Mullanpur.”
According to Indian all-rounder Deepti Sharma, every member of the team is a superb fielder who can make spectacular catches even on a terrible day. The crew also made some challenging catches, she said.
Deepti preferred to concentrate on the team’s success rather than address the controversy surrounding Suryakumar Yadav’s handshake with the Pakistan captain at the India-Pakistan Asia Cup.
She added that four spin bowlers were part of the team’s Sunday meeting. Despite Australia’s strong batting, every bowler was attempting to take wickets. She said she was sure Indian bowlers and batsmen would do well on Wednesday. She added that Amanjot Kaur and Renuka Singh are practicing on the net and are in perfect physical condition.
