A former Congress MP from Punjab’s son, Ritchie Kapoor, died in a car accident in Jalandhar when his out-of-control car collided with a Fortuner. He could not be saved due to a head injury.

In Jalandhar, four vehicles were involved in a serious collision. The sole son of senior Akali leader and former MP Mohinder Singh Kaypee, Ritchie Kapoor (36), was slain. Serious injuries were also sustained by two additional passengers in the vehicles. The tragedy happened in the upscale Model Town neighbourhood of the city, close to Mata Rani Chowk. When the accident happened, Mohinder Singh Kaypee was at home.

Ritchie was in his Fortuner when a Creta automobile that was driving out of a lane into a Grand Vitara first, then struck his car directly. The Creta’s driver ran away from the scene.It attests to the fact that a taxi, a Fortuner, and a Grand Vitara were struck by the speeding Creta car. A taxi driver on the site reported that the Creta’s driver was accompanied by a woman and a toddler, both of whom were hurt. Nevertheless, neither the Creta’s injured passengers nor the other cars’ drivers are identified in the report.

Ritchie was seriously hurt, and the front of the car was severely damaged. After being brought right away to Global Hospital, he was referred to Patel Hospital, where medical professionals pronounced him dead.
