Threats to Retired AIG in Ludhiana from Gangsters: Calls coming in the name of Lawrence and Bhagwanpuria, FIR on High Court’s order.
Gangsters in Ludhiana, Punjab, are threatening a retired AIG. Threats are being sent to him via WhatsApp calls. On the High Court’s directives, a formal complaint has been filed against unidentified individuals at the Sadar police station following a ten-month police investigation. On a production warrant, the police will question the gangsters who have been named.
During his service, retired AIG Sandeep Sharma had questioned a number of infamous gangsters. Those same gangsters are now threatening him after he retired.
Gangster pressure to drop the FIR.
Sharma reported that threatening WhatsApp calls from foreign numbers are reaching him. He is under pressure from gangsters to drop the July 28, 2023, FIR. The crooks have threatened to hurt him and his family (wife and son) if he does not drop the FIR. Sharma claimed that in spite of these threats, he has not given up.
Significant Activities Even While Under STF Tenure.
According to Sharma, he conducted significant operations against gangsters like as Bagga Khan Boota, Munish Prabhakar, Gopru Baccha, Sukh Bhikariwal, and Rajpal alias Raja while serving as AIG STF. These thugs and their associates began to threaten him when he retired.
He was immediately given security cover by Harpreet Sidhu, the VISHA DGP STF at the time, following the threats. On July 28, 2023, Ludhiana Police filed a First Information Report (FIR) in accordance with IPC sections 294, 115, 500, 506, and 34. Prabhakar and Bagga Khan were then taken into custody as well.

On the High Court’s Order, Action Was Taken
In April 2024, Sharma informed the police that he was being threatened by other criminals, including Lawrence and Jaggu Bhagwanpuria, following the arrest of Bagga Khan and Prabhakar. Lawrence and Bhagwanpuria called him directly on March 19, 2024, and threatened to kill him. Sharma had an iPhone, so he was unable to record the calls, but he sent the police screenshots of the numbers.
The issue persisted for ten months.
Despite ADCP Sharma’s May 1, 2024, recommendation for action, Sharma’s complaint was not resolved for ten months in the Police Commissioner’s office. Sharma then went to the High Court, which mandated that Punjab DGP act within three weeks.
Police Will Issue Production Warrants to Named Gangsters.
Sharma has been notified by the police that the criminals he named will soon be called for questioning on a production warrant and their names will be added to the FIR, based on his complaint and inquiry. SHO According to Heibowal Police Station Sub-Inspector Jasvir Singh, the FIR was filed in light of the SIT’s findings. The mentioned gangsters would be nominated in the FIR based on the complainant’s investigation.
