Verka Milk Plant Hoshiarpur Sends Three Trucks of Relief Material to Flood-Affected Areas

September 9, HOSHIARPUR: In order to assist households impacted by the floods in Punjab, Milkfed Punjab is consistently supplying relief supplies. In this context, three trucks carrying relief supplies were sent to flood-affected areas today from the Verka Milk Plant in Hoshiarpur. Narinder Singh Shergill, the Chairman of Milkfed Punjab, flagged off the assistance convoy.

Mr Shergill told reporters that the impacted families would receive dry supplies from these trucks. A relief kit containing rice, flour, lentils, sugar, salt, dried milk, and other necessary food items has been distributed to each family. The Honourable Chief Minister of Punjab, Bhagwant Singh Mann, led the charge on this action, he continued.

The Chairman declared that Milkfed’s top goal is to provide families devastated by the floods with immediate relief. Additionally, he stated that Verka had already dispatched vans from Mohali, Jalandhar, and Sangrur to deliver ration supplies. In the days ahead, similar relief supplies would be provided from Amritsar, Gurdaspur, and Patiala. He commended the Verka staff for using their pay cheques to support the relief operations, saying it was very admirable.

Milkfed Punjab, according to Narinder Singh Shergill, is always prepared to assist the people of the state, not only for the benefit of farmers and milk producers but also during any emergency. Such initiatives, he continued, show Milkfed’s public awareness and social responsibility.
