The floods have had a significant impact on the houses, possessions, and means of subsistence of these families, who mostly reside in villages along the Ravi River. The organisation wants to give these families the tools they need to support themselves and help them regain their independence.
In the past, Voice of Amritsar had established medical camps in the flood-affected districts in coordination with physicians from AIIMS, New Delhi. The medical team offered free medical examinations, medications, and consultations at these camps, which were established at Gurdwara Baba Budha Sahib, Ramdas, hamlet Mahhiwada, and village Ghanowala. These camps provided timely treatment and benefits to thousands of people. Punjabi musician Jasbir Jassi and well-known Bollywood comedian Kapil Sharma also provided support for this service project. They both supported and encouraged the volunteers and doctors.

VOA to Support Flood-Affected Children’s Education
Voice of Amritsar has said that it will be implementing “Vidya ka Langar” (a free community education programme) to assist in the education of children affected by the flood. Children will receive free books, notebooks, stationery, and other educational supplies as part of this programme. Children can get in touch with the organisation if they need assistance.
VOA’s president, Indu Arora, and founding member, Dr Rakesh Sharma, expressed their sincere gratitude to everyone who stepped up to support the organisation at this trying period. They conveyed their belief that following this catastrophe, such as the floods, the people of Punjab will rise again and proceed with renewed vigour and optimism.
Could you let me know if you’re interested in the work of the other organisations involved or if you’d need additional information about the particular projects mentioned, like “Vidya ka Langar”, for example?
