Breaking: AAP MLA Arrested in Punjab After Being Found Guilty of Attacking and Molesting a Young Woman While Driving a Taxi?
A district court in Tarn Taran found Manjinder Singh Lalpura, an Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MLA from Khadoor Sahib, and seven other people guilty of assault and molestation. During Wednesday’s hearing, the court announced that all seven of the convicted individuals would receive their sentences on September 12. Everyone has been arrested by the police and sent to jail.
MLA Lalpura was a cab driver in 2013, when this case occurred. He was charged with attacking a young lady during a wedding. The cab drivers were also accused of molestation by the woman.

Understand the two points of the case against the MLA:
On September 4, 2013, a girl who was attending a wedding was assaulted. A young woman and her family had travelled to a marriage palace to attend a wedding ceremony. The girl was allegedly molested by some people at this time. The cab drivers attacked her in protest.
After the video surfaced, SC took notice: the girl was allegedly abused by the responding police, and a video of the incident went viral.
