Punjab Cabinet Meeting Begins, CM Joins from Hospital: Possible Announcement of Relief for Flood Victims, ‘Meri Khet-Meri Ret’ Policy Likely to Be Implemented.
In Punjab, an important cabinet meeting has started. Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann joined the meeting by videoconference from the hospital, and it is taking place at the CM’s home. This conference is expected to include significant news for farmers devastated by the disaster.
It is also anticipated that the mining policy would change. The “Meri Khet-Meri Ret” (My Farm-My Sand) policy, which permits farmers to remove sand from their fields and grants them ownership rights over it, can be put into effect under the new regulations.
A press conference will be held by Finance Minister Harpal Singh Cheema following the meeting.

Sand in Fields Disturbs Farmers
Information indicates that Punjab has not experienced such a significant flood since 1988. The state is experiencing flooding in 23 districts. Fields belonging to people are flooded. They are filled with silt and sand. Farmers are unsure about how to get ready for the upcoming crop because of the current circumstances.
This need has also been increased by farmers. The government has responded by declaring that it will alter the mining policy. The announcement is expected to be made by the government during today’s meeting.
