Roof collapse at Fazilka Gurudwara: Two workers hurt, one mason killed, hospital staff agitated.
At a Gurudwara Sahib in the village of Panchawali, Fazilka district, a fatal tragedy happened during the installation of a roof slab. The slab collapsed after the support abruptly shattered. Two workers were slightly hurt, and the mason who was working on the roof at the time passed away. The wounded mason was reportedly brought to the hospital, where medical professionals pronounced him deceased.
Rain caused work to stop.
According to Gurcharan Singh, a relative of the deceased, the work was temporarily halted when it began to rain during the installation of the roof slab at the Gurudwara Sahib in the village of Panchawali, Fazilka. They started laying the slab again after the rain stopped. The slab fell in the middle of the evening while the job was still going on because the support abruptly broke from below.
Claims of Not Receiving Treatment on Schedule
They claimed that Mahender Singh, a mason employed at the Gurudwara Sahib, suffered critical injuries in the mishap, while one of the workers was hurt. For treatment, he was brought to the Fazilka government hospital. Mahender Singh was taken to a private hospital, where medical professionals pronounced him dead, on the grounds that he was not promptly treated at the government hospital.
Death Occurred Before Arriving at the Hospital, the Doctor Says
However, Dr Nikhil, a physician at the government hospital, stated that the patient had already passed away when his family brought him there. However, the relatives misbehaved, tried to break the machines, and caused a scene at the hospital. The doctor claimed that although he had notified the police, the body had already been removed from the hospital by family members.
