AAP MLA Arora was produced in Jalandhar court: FIR for extortion now, after a corruption case, and gets a 3-day remand.

Raman Arora, an MLA for the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) in Jalandhar, Punjab, was imprisoned for collusion in a corruption case. The police have now charged MLA Arora with forced extortion at the Rama Mandi police station, despite the High Court having granted him regular bail. After appearing in court today, Arora was placed under three days of police remand. According to the victim in this case, the MLA extorted money from them and threatened them.

MLA Arora reportedly has a firm grip on the Rama Mandi police station. Following Arora’s incarceration, industrialist Nitin Kohli, the party central in-charge, was implicated, sparking talks about holding a by-election in the central region. MLA Arora continued to hold his position after this. Now, the police filed a case during the inquiry at the end of August following the receipt of a fresh complaint against the MLA.

In Nabha Jail was MLA Arora. MLA Arora was taken into custody by the police today and appeared in court. The police have asked the court to hold Arora for three days so they may question him.

A forced extortion case has been filed against the contractor.

According to MLA Raman Arora’s attorney, Naveen Chaddha, FIR number 253 was filed on August 23. “We had secured bail from the High Court in the previous case yesterday, but now a case has been registered by the police on the complaint of a contractor named Ramesh.”

According to Ramesh, he has been providing MLA Arora Rs 30,000. “Ramesh, the complainant, ought to have called the police at the same moment if Arora had stolen money. This contractor works on parking lots. To prevent Arora from being released from prison, this type of case is being filed against him.

MLA arrested by police on May 23

It is to be noted that the Vigilance Department had arrested the MLA on May 14, whereas the police had arrested him on May 23 from his Ashok Nagar residence. After Arora’s revelation, his son Rajan Arora, Sameer Raju Madan, Harpreet Kaur, and Makheeja were also made accused in the conspiracy. Rajan has already got relief from the court. Makheeja and Harpreet Kaur are out on bail.
