A significant relief has been provided to the Chandigarh Municipal Corporation. Mayor Harpreet Kaur Babla is overjoyed that the Ministry of Home Affairs has awarded the Municipal Corporation ₹125 crore. The mayor has thanked Chandigarh Administrator Gulab Chand Kataria, Home Minister Amit Shah, and Prime Minister Modi.
According to Mayor Harpreet Kaur Babla, a lack of funding caused several development projects in the city to halt; therefore, finishing them will now be her top priority. She stated that her first goal would be to rehabilitate the city’s roads, which are in very terrible shape.
Additionally, contractors that have unpaid invoices will be paid. In addition, the municipal corporation plans to apply for ₹1,000 crore in funding the following year to make sure there is no financial pressure, allowing development activities to proceed without hiccups and avoiding the same issues for the next mayor.
