Hero Asia Cup 2025 Trophy Unveiled in Chandigarh; Rajgir to Host.
August 23, Chandigarh—Chandigarh hosted the Hero Asia Cup Rajgir, Bihar 2025 trophy’s great unveiling and welcome ceremony. Hockey Chandigarh hosted the event at the Hyatt Centric Hotel in Sector 17.
Bollywood star Jimmy Sheirgill and Punjabi MP Malwinder Singh Kang were among the event’s special guests. “Hockey is a part of our national heritage and sportsmanship,” stated Jimmy Sheirgill. Events like this raise India’s profile and encourage young people to participate in sports.
“Events like the Asia Cup are not just about sports; they also send a message of unity and brotherhood,” stated MP Malwinder Singh Kang. The fact that India is hosting this major event is a source of pride.
“Chandigarh has always been a hockey nursery, and such an event will serve as an inspiration for the new generation of players,” said Karan Gilhotra, president of Hockey Chandigarh. Hockey Chandigarh Vice President Anil Vohra and Senior Vice President Pushvinderjit Singh also attended the event.
The recently built hockey stadium in the historic city of Rajgir, Bihar, will host this esteemed competition from August 29 to September 7, 2025. Eight teams, including those from India, Pakistan, Japan, Korea, China, and Malaysia, will compete in the 12th Asia Cup. The two teams that are left will advance from the AHF Cup.
This event will be a new milestone in India’s sports infrastructure and will offer Bihar a special identity on the international sports map. It is important to remember that Rajgir hosted the Women’s Asian Champions Trophy in November 2024 with great success, and India won.
