One more case of fraudulently transferring land.

Police at the Badali Ala Singh police station have reportedly filed a complaint against a person for allegedly transferring land in their name fraudulently.

According to the information obtained, Amrik Singh, a resident of Kheri Bir Singh village, filed a complaint alleging that his grandpa, Basta Singh, was the owner of eight Marla and seventy-five Kanal of land. Even though Basta Singh had left his entire estate to be equally shared among his four sons, the land was passed to his wife, four sons, and a daughter after his death.

The sons filed a complaint in court based on this will. The land transfer in the names of Basta Singh’s wife and daughter was later revoked by the court, which also mandated that all of the land be equally registered in the names of his four sons.

Nonetheless, Basta Singh’s wife’s name was still incorrectly entered in the revenue department’s records. After his grandmother Uttami passed away, Jang Singh allegedly took advantage of this by using the wrong entry to draft a fictitious will and transfer her portion of the land into his own name.

Amrik Singh, the complainant, charged Jang Singh with forgery and fraud. According to the complaint, Jang Singh, a resident of Kheri Bir Singh, is the subject of a case filed at the Badali Ala Singh police station under sections 420, 465, 467, and 468 of the IPC. The Chunni Kalan police post is looking into the situation right now.  {Reported by: Arun Pathak}
