Police custody in Ludhiana: Rural head Sunny Kanth stopped from setting up camp; BJP workers protest outside the police station.
In Ludhiana, Punjab, police have arrested Dehati Pradhan Sunny Kaith, a member of the BJP. BJP District President Rajneesh Dhiman and other BJP leaders arrived at the Dugari police station after he was arrested and are currently demonstrating against the police.
The Punjab government, according to BJP leaders, is attempting to dismantle the camps they are erecting in the villages. For this reason, Sunny Kaith was also placed under arrest by the police today.
Through these camps, they are educating people about the central government’s (Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s) programmes and registering them for them, according to BJP District President Rajneesh Dhiman.
Two BJP leaders, former MP Sushil Kumar Rinku and former MLA KD Bhandari, have also reportedly been arrested in Jalandhar. The Punjab government would not exert pressure on the BJP.
