Police in Ludhiana confiscate a gangster’s Glock handgun.

Ludhiana Police seize a Glock pistol from a gangster: The deal was brokered for 3 lakhs by a jailed murderer; suspicion of smuggling from across the border.

Recovering a Glock weapon from a local thug is a significant victory for Ludhiana police. Police believe it was transported from Pakistan across the border. According to the inquiry, the purchase of this pistol was arranged by a convicted murderer. This is currently the subject of a comprehensive investigation by the Punjab Police.

Mukul Mattoo, a native of Mohalla Fatehgarh, was detained by the Central Intelligence Agency. Police found a car, 2.50 lakh rupees in cash, and 1.05 kilos of heroin on him during the inquiry.

Following that, a case was filed at the police station in Moti Nagar. During the inquiry, the CIA team also discovered 17 live cartridges and a Glock pistol belonging to the accused. The Glock handgun is a contemporary weapon.

Mattoo spent three lakhs on the Glock handgun.

According to the investigation, Mattoo paid 3 lakh rupees to Satish, a Basti Jodhewal resident, for the Glock pistol. Bishu, a murder suspect who is now being held at Faridkot jail, mediated the agreement. The defendant has also acknowledged that Bikramjit Singh, also known as Chhinda, who is presently incarcerated at Ludhiana Central Jail, helped him obtain another weapon.

Smuggling from Pakistan is doubtful.

Inspector Beant Juneja, the Crime Branch’s in-charge, stated, “We are very certain that the Glock handgun was smuggled from Pakistan. It is extremely concerning that a gangster in this region has been found in possession of such a weapon for the second time in recent memory.

Mattu, a Municipal Corporation tubewell operator who was fired

According to police sources, Mattoo, the alleged tubewell operator, has a criminal record and is now involved in eight cases. July 2024 saw his release on bail. The mobster allegedly threatened to use a gun to silence a trader who voiced concerns about cocaine smuggling.

This arrest also demonstrates how gangsters who are incarcerated continue to run a drug and weapon network from their cells. Both Bishu and Bikramjit Singh are currently facing charges for their assistance to Mattoo.

In 2023, Khanna Police discovered a Glock.

This recovery followed one that took place in 2023, when the Khanna police detained someone who was supposedly connected to political circles. He was found in possession of five additional firearms and a Glock pistol.

More disclosures are anticipated during Mattoo’s police remand, according to police officials, who think that his arrest may shed light on the relationship between Punjab’s criminals and international weaponry suppliers. In order to solve this case, the police are doing everything they can.
