The Asia Cup Indian hockey team has been announced: it won bronze at the previous year’s Olympics in Paris under Harmanpreet’s leadership.
The Asia Cup squad for India has been revealed. The team was made public by Hockey India on Wednesday. Harmanpreet Singh, the Olympic bronze medallist from Paris, has been given direction of the team.
Suraj Karkera and Krishna Bahadur Pathak have been given the task of replacing veteran goalie PR Sreejesh. Following his bronze medal at the Olympics in Paris last year, Sreejesh had declared his retirement.
Mandeep Singh, Shailendra Lakra, Abhishek, and Dilpreet are among the forwards, while Sumit, Jarmanpreet Singh, Amit Rohidas, and Jugraj Singh have been retained on the defensive line. Vivek Sagar Prasad and Manpreet Singh have been retained in the midfield.

Other choices are Selvam Karthi and Nilam Sanjeep.
