Jalandhar: PRTC bus-mini truck collide, 3 dead: They were going from Kapurthala to a vegetable market; the family sits on a protest after the accident, traffic blocked.
Tuesday morning in Jalandhar, a horrific traffic tragedy happened on Kapurthala Road close to Mangal village. Three persons perished immediately in this accident. The witnesses reported that a little mini-truck approaching from the front abruptly collided with a fast-moving PRTC bus (government bus) travelling in the opposite way. Because of the force of the impact, the mini-truck was totally demolished, and the three passengers inside perished instantly.
The deceased have been identified as vendors at the vegetable market in Kapurthala. When the crime scene was discovered, they were reportedly travelling to Jalandhar with veggies in tow. A few hours after the accident, the police took the bus driver into custody and are continuously questioning him. The police are also trying to ascertain the exact cause of the accident.”

As usual, they had come to Jalandhar to buy veggies.
There was a lot of noise in the neighbourhood as word of the accident spread, and many people showed up at the scene. On the Kapurthala-Jalandhar route, the angry families and locals protested, halting traffic, and called on the government to take strong action against the responsible bus driver.
Rakesh, son of Mohat, who lived in Deep Nagar Colony (Kapurthala); Mukesh Kumar, son of Sudhir Singh, who lived in New Sabzi Mandi (Kapurthala); and Ishwar Bind, son of Mahendra Bind, who lived in New Sabzi Mandi (Kapurthala), have been identified as the deceased.
In Kapurthala, the three of them were vegetable merchants. They were heading to the large market in Jalandhar this morning to buy veggies as part of their daily ritual. All three of them died when the bus from the opposite way struck their car when they were getting close to Mand.
After police arrived, the situation was defused.
The police also arrived at the scene after learning of the incident and made an effort to maintain order. Police officers made an effort to divert the demonstrators’ attention while promising a thorough investigation.
This horrible catastrophe has caused a wave of anguish to sweep through the entire area. The families are crying excessively and are inconsolable. The administration is not doing anything tangible to address the long-standing accidents on this road, according to the villagers.

According to Vikram Singh, the SHO of the Maqsudan police station, they were notified in the morning that a bus and a minitruck had collided. They arrived at the scene of the crime and seized the bodies. The family put the three bodies on the road and began a protest, even though they were meant to be transferred to Civil Hospital Jalandhar for a post-mortem. Now, though, the bus driver has been arrested and is being questioned. Additionally, PRTC representatives have reached the location and are speaking with the deceased’s family. The precise cause of the accident is yet unknown. After questioning the driver, the case will move forward. Although the exact number of people aboard the bus is yet unknown, the family’s statement will serve as the basis for prompt action.
