Chandigarh became the first city in the nation to effectively privatise its entire energy distribution system on February 1, 2025.
There were no barriers or disruptions to the uninterrupted provision of services as a consequence of this privatisation. Four initiatives are important elements in creating a safe, educated, and inclusive city in Chandigarh.
A four-lane flyover has also been suggested as a way to reduce traffic on the PGI to Sarangpur route.
In terms of education, 2025 was a landmark year. In addition to the completion of the regularisation process for 779 instructors, special educators were appointed for the first time.
Chandigarh was named the best-performing city in a report published on June 18, 2025, by the Union Ministry of Education.
