Faridkot Police Arrest 7 Linked to Bambiha Gang in Driver’s Murder Case

Faridkot police have arrested seven people connected to the Bambiha gang in a blind murder case that took place in Bahmanwala village on July 22 officials said on Wednesday.

Among the arrested are three main suspects who carried out the killing, and four others who helped by providing weapons, shelter, and money said DIG Ashwani Kumar.

The victim Yadvinder Singh from Mohali, was working as a driver for Jeewanjot Singh Chahal alias Jugnu an accused in the Sidhu Moosewala murder case. He was shot dead by three attackers on a motorcycle during a condolence visit to the village. Police believe the real target was Jugnu, but the killers mistakenly shot his driver.

Investigations revealed the murder was planned by gangster Gaurav alias Lucky Patial, who is based abroad and associated with the Bambiha gang. The key accused, Chinki from Jaito reportedly wanted to avenge the death of his brother Deepak Maan, who was linked to the rival Moosewala camp.

Chinki was arrested on July 27 in Sirsa, Haryana, along with Sooraj Kumar who gave him shelter. During a police recovery operation, Chinki fired at police but was injured in the crossfire and then arrested. A case was filed under the Arms Act and related BNS sections at Kotkapura Sadar Police Station.

On July 28 police arrested three more accused Jaswant Singh alias Mangal, Harmanpreet Singh alias Harman and Bunty from Ferozepur for supplying weapons, money and shelter.

The remaining two main shooters, Gurmeet Singh alias Gumber Rajput and Manpreet Singh alias Gattari were arrested on July 29 from Rajpura, Patiala. Police seized two.30 bore pistols with 11 live cartridges and one Glock pistol with 8 rounds.

Early investigations also found that weapons and funds were arranged by Malaysia-based Piush Pehalwan alias Rajan and his father Jaswant Singh alias Mangal.

Two separate FIRs have been registered: one on July 22 under Sections 103(1), 109, 61(2), and 249 of the BNS and Arms Act at City Kotkapura Police Station and another on July 28 under additional Arms Act provisions at Sadar Kotkapura Police Station.
