Babbar Khalsa Gangster Arrested in Delhi After Grenade Attack in Punjab

Delhi Police, along with Punjab Police, have arrested a gangster linked to the banned terrorist group Babbar Khalsa International (BKI). The man, Akash Deep (also called Akash Singh), is in his early 20s and was caught near Delhi’s Red Fort.

He is accused of being involved in a grenade attack on the Lal Singh Qila police station in Batala, Punjab, which took place on the night of April 6-7, 2025. He is also wanted in cases related to illegal weapons smuggling.

Police launched the operation based on secret information to catch criminals working in and around Delhi. During the arrest, police recovered weapons from the accused. Special police teams were also deployed to keep the public safe.

After the grenade attack, Punjab Police filed a case under the Explosives Act and the new criminal law, Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).

This arrest is part of a bigger plan to stop organized crime and ensure safety, especially in important places like Red Fort. The investigation is still going on, and police are checking the accused’s international connections.
