Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) leader Parmabans Singh Romana has made serious allegations against the Congress and the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) during a press conference on the issue of sacrilege cases. He claimed that both parties are involved in sacrilege incidents and are helping the people responsible instead of taking action.
Romana especially targeted AAP and accused the party of trying to protect its leader Naresh Yadav, who is linked to a sacrilege case currently in the Supreme Court. He said the AAP government wrote to the Deputy Commissioner (DC) of Malerkotla, asking for the withdrawal of the case against Naresh Yadav.
He also said that sacrilege cases have increased since AAP came into power in Punjab. According to him, many officials were under pressure from the government to close the case against Naresh Yadav. Romana demanded answers—asking who gave these orders and why no action was taken against officials trying to save the accused, if the government was not involved.
Romana called this a serious matter and urged the public and authorities to question the silence of the AAP and Congress on sacrilege issues.
