CM Bhagwant Mann Says Culprits Behind Golden Temple Bomb Threats Identified

Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann on Tuesday said that police and security agencies had found the IP addresses of those who sent bomb threat emails to the Golden Temple. He assured that the culprits would be caught soon.

Mann gave this update after meeting Shiromani Gurdwara Management Committee (SGPC) chief Harjinder Singh Dhami. This was the CM’s first visit to the Golden Temple since July 14, when the first threat email was received.

The SGPC had received at least eight different bomb threat emails, which led to a strong response from security agencies. Just a day before Mann’s visit, Sri Guru Ram Dass Jee International Airport also received a similar threat via letter.

Earlier, a software engineer from Faridabad, Haryana, was questioned in the case. However, police have not yet revealed who exactly is behind the threats.

During the meeting, Dhami informed the CM that the contents of the emails were different. Mann said police had already identified the accused and were waiting for confirmation through scientific methods.

He promised strict action against those involved and said the investigation would be taken seriously. He also asked the SGPC to share any information they had.

Mann urged people and pilgrims not to panic and assured them that Punjab Police were alert and ready to handle the situation. When asked why he didn’t visit earlier, Mann said he was busy with the Assembly session.
