Fire in Air India Plane After Landing in Delhi, Everyone Safe

An Air India plane caught fire after landing at Delhi airport on Tuesday afternoon, but all passengers and crew are safe.

The flight, AI 315, had come from Hong Kong and landed in Delhi on 22 July 2025. Soon after the plane parked at the gate and passengers started getting off, a fire broke out in the Auxiliary Power Unit (APU), which helps provide power when the engines are off.

The fire was quickly controlled as the APU shut down automatically, as it is designed to do. According to an Air India spokesperson, the passengers and crew got off the plane safely, and there were no injuries.

There was some damage to the aircraft, which has now been grounded for investigation. The aviation regulator has been informed about the incident.
